Membership


There are three classes of membership, Research, Associate, and Corresponding.
a. Research Membership. Any Master Mason who is a member of a constituent Lodge of this Grand Jurisdiction shall be eligible for Active Membership in this Research Lodge. Completion of the curriculum and presentation of a final research paper is required for Research Membership. Such Research Membership shall continue only so long as such member is in good standing in a constituent Lodge of this Grand Jurisdiction.

b. Associate Membership. These are members who have not completed all requirements to be a Research Member. Associate Members are eligible to hold appointed offices, but may not vote or hold elected offices.

c. Corresponding Membership. Members who are active Master Masons in a grand jurisdiction recognized by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia shall have all the rights and privileges of Research Members except that of holding office or voting. Corresponding members may be appointed by the Worshipful Master of the lodge to committees, with the exceptions of the Finance or Auditing committees. Corresponding Members who are not active Master Masons in a grand jurisdiction recognized by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia shall not participate in any tyled activities of this lodge.

d. Subscribers. These are individuals that pay for a copy of the Research & Education Lodge’s transactions, accessible via the Internet or mailed upon special request. Upon written request, Subscribers can share their research and potentially publish their work in a given Research & Education Lodge publication.

e. Petitions. Petitions for membership shall be made on the prescribed form, available at this website and/or traditional mail, and shall be received at any Communication of this Research Lodge. Action on such petition for membership may be had at that Communication of this Research Lodge, and shall be without ballot.
