The Order of the Knights of Pythagoras is an International Order for young men sponsored by Prince Hall Masons. In the District of Columbia, the Order is administrated by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of DC through the Worshipful Grand Director; the supervision and trusteeship of the Order is entrusted to the membership of the twenty-five Warranted Masonic Lodges of the District of Columbia through the State Board of Regents and the Boards of Regents of the twelve Subordinate Knights of Pythagoras (OKP) Councils of DC. The fraternal government of the Order is ran by the youth membership of the Most Venerable Grand Council and the twelve Chartered Subordinate OKP Councils in the District of Columbia.

The Order in DC admits young men ages 8-18 (7 year olds may join with the permission of the Most Venerable Grand Master Knight and the council chairman), and may hold active membership through age 20. The order nationwide has membership ages 8-20. Youth must have parent's knowledge of application and posses a belief in a Supreme Being. Knighthood consists of dedication to: service to God, love of parents and lifelong recompense for their love and sacrifices, patriotism, defence of intellectual, political, religious and civil liberty, righteous thinking, relief and aid to distressed members of the human family, fidelity, tolerance and respect of womanhood. While the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras has its ritual with its secret signs, words, ect., it has no secrets to withhold from the world regarding its aims in making its members better sons and better young men than they have ever been before.

Young men and their parents are invited to visit the Masonic Temple on second Saturdays at 8:00 AM to discuss interest in membership with council advisors and members of the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras; check the full calendar on this website for scheduled dates.
